Clash over construction work injures 30 in Sunamganj

At least 30 people were injured in a clash between two rival groups over a road construction work in Bajnamahal area of Chaatak town in Sunamganj on Sunday afternoon. Quoting locals, police said armed followers of Yahhiah Abedin and Billal Miah of the area locked horns when the former tried to obstruct a road construction work, leaving at least 30 people injured on both sides. Among the injured, four received bullet injuries and were rushed to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital. Being informed, police rushed in and fired 20 rounds of bullets to disperse the clashers. The district's superintendent of police Harun-ur-Rashid said they have brought the situation under control. The rest of the injured were taken to Chhatak Health Complex, according to UNB.
