Clash over land kills two in Naogaon

NAOGAON, June 22 (UNB): Two people were shot dead and 10 others injured as a group of people, led by local influentials, attacked the people of indigenous community in Akbarpur union parishad of Patnitola upazila on Monday morning.
The deceased were identified as Mithun Oraon and Hafizul.
Witnesses said a group of people, led by local influentials launched an attack on the people of landless indigenous community of the locality over previous enmity. The duo received bullet injuries during the attack as the attackers fired gunshots aimlessly, leaving them dead on the spot.
Ten other people were reportedly injured. They were whisked off to Rejshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) and Naogaon Sadar Hospital. Abdur Rafiq, officer-in-charge of Patnitola Police Station confirmed the incident.
