Cleaning drive in Bandarban

A cleaning operation has been launched in Bandarban to attract tourists. State Minister for Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Bir Bahadur Ushwe Sing led the drive from the district town’s press club area at 7:00am on Friday. The 2-hour-long exercise cleared encroachers from city streets, footpath, and alleys. Stakeholders say the drive is aimed at attracting tourists and keeping the town clean ahead of a fair on Saturday. Bandarban army’s region commander, superintendent of police, Zilla Parishad’s acting chairman, among others, took part in the drive, jointly organised by the press club and the municipality, according to bdnews24.com.
