Clinic vandalised as alleged wrong treatment kills woman in Pabna

PABNA, Jun 8: Angry mob vandalised a private clinic and also beat up its doctor after death of a patient in the clinic Sunday morning. Earlier, a housewife died after caesarean operation in 'Medicit Clinic and Diagnostic Centre' of Bera municipality area in Pabna early Sunday.
The victim Brishti Khatun, 20, wife of Delwar Hossain of village Shannalpara in Bera Upazila under the district was admitted to the clinic Saturday night for abdomen pain according to family sources.
Due to the critical condition she was taken to operation theatre of the clinic Saturday night where Dr Mamun of the clinic conducted a caesarean operation on Saturday night, said Md. Mohosin Mollik, cousin of the victim. But she died at about 5am because of wrong treatment, he said.
Later the relatives and locals rushed to the clinic, vandalised it and beat up its doctor said Md Imam Hossain, managing director (MD) of the clinic. "The patient was suffering from internal problem. She died due to her complexity." Imam Hossain, the MD said denying wrong treatment of the doctor.
