FE Report
The government Sunday said the clock would be moved back by one hour at 11:59pm, not exactly at midnight on December 31, dispelling confusion over turning clocks back from the Daylight Saving Time (DST).
For the last couple of days, many have been speculating that the clocks would strike twice at midnight on the last day of 2009 after the government decided to turn clocks back on December 24.
The country will return to the DST on March 31 next year, meaning to move the clocks forward by one hour, said a government press release Sunday.
The DST would continue until 11:59pm on October 31, said the press release signed by Power Secretary Mohammad Abul Kalam Azad.
The clocks would be moved back again on October 31 for five months.
