CMP launch drive to protect women from eve-teasing

CHITTAGONG, May 6: Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) have launched drive to save the women from harassment.
The CMP has advised the girls and women to send an SMS with their names to '373' from their mobile phones whenever they face harassment.
The police will act instantly to arrest the eve-teasers upon receiving the SMS, said Banaj Kumar Majumder, deputy commissioner (north) of the CMP. A similar step proved fruitful last year, he added.
The DC of CMP said the names and phone numbers of the girls sending messages will be kept secret.
The contact numbers of CMP police officials for sending SMS are 01713-373253 (DC - north), 01713-373254 (AC- Kotwali), 01713-373255 (AC - Panchlaish) and 12 numbers of sub-inspectors of 12 police stations under CMP.
