CMP officers awarded for devotion to duties

CHITTAGONG, October 27: The law enforcement agency in Chittagong city has awarded a good number of officers including inspectors, sub-inspectors and assistant sub-inspectors for efficiently handling law and order situation in the port city. Six Sub-inspectors have also been adjudged best officers for September 2011.
Commissioner of Chittagong Metropolitan Police Abul Kashem handed over cash money and certificates to them at the monthly crimes meeting held on Wednesday morning.
The meeting reviewed overall law and order situation, criminal acts and their tactful handlings and filing of cases and settlements in the month.
Those awarded for their honesty and devotion to duties are AC (DB & Port) Engineer Hasan Chowdhury, AC (DB - North) Abdullah al Mahmud, OC Bayezid Bostami police station AKM Mohiuddin PPM, OC Chandgaon Syed Abdur Rauf, OC Halishahar Zahedul Islam, DB Inspector Sadip Kumar Das PPM, Shahjahan Bhuiyan, Mohammed Alamgir - both Senior ACs, six Inspectors, 33 sub-inspectors and two assistant sub-inspectors.
Besides, Kotwali SI Md Nizam, Bayezid Bostami SI Md Zahir Hossain, Double Mooring SI Sekandar Ali, Bandar SI Kausar Uddin Chowdhury Pahartali ASI Moudud Ahmed were adjudged best officers for the month, a press release issued by CMP said today.
CMP Commissioner said the law and order situation was in control of the law enforcers in the city. Members of the police are also determined to render services to the people in the same way throughout the year.
"The Hindus have performed their greatest festival Durga Puja in a very peaceful manner because of the special drives and utmost vigilance conducted by the CMP," he said.
During the month of September the CMP seized one LG, huge quantity of drugs and arrested 96 persons in connection with criminal activities, he said.
The meeting was attended by additional police commissioner Shafiqul Islam, DC (Traffic) and DC (HQ) additional charge Faruk Ahmed, DC (North) Amena Begum, DC (Port) Kusum Dewan, APC (Force) Sheikh Shariful Islam, APC (HQ) Naimul Hasan, APC (Kotwali zone) Monzur Morshed, APC (Port) Shahrior Alam, APC (Traffic) Shahidullah, APC (Panchlaish zone) Abdul Mannan, APC (Supply) Nirmalendu Bikash Chakraborty and APC (staff officer) Arefin Jewel.
