CMP take security measures for Pahela Boishakh

CHITTAGONG, April 12: The law enforcement authorities in the city have closed seven routes leading to the two main venues of the DC Hill and CRB Shirishtala for Thursday next on the occasion of Pahela Boishakh. Traffic movements have been suspended on the roads to facilitate the people enjoy the grand festivals at those two places and other areas with kids. Commissioner of Chittagong Metropolitan Police Abul Kashem informed the media about the decision at the CMP headquarters at Laldighi hilltop in the city Tuesday morning. "Adequate security measures have been taken to ensure observance of the Bangla Naba Barsha in its true spirit and in a festive mood," he said and added that there is no likelihood of incident like that of Ramna Batamul in Dhaka. "The CMP is ready to face any situation and we will seek people's cooperation as well. City's law and order situation has improved remarkably in the recent times and there was not even a single case of hijacking during the ICC World Cup Cricket Tournament," he said.
