CNG exhibition begins today

The 1st International CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) Exhibition -2008 begins today (Friday) at the city's Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre to showcase CNG equipment and accessories.
M. Tamim, special assistant to the Chief Adviser for energy and mineral resources, will inaugurate the four-day fair at 3.30pm.
Global Event Management Services (GEMS) in association with Petrobangla, Rupantarita Prakritik Gas Company Ltd. (RPGCL) and Asia Pacific Natural Gas Vehicle Association is organising the exhibition.
The main objective of the fair is to provide the Bangladesh CNG industry a platform to develop new alternate sources of supplies, make new contacts and to discover and capitalise on the new opportunities, said the organisers.
The fair will also help to increase the number of CNG users and provide necessary information to the CNG businessmen and vehicle owners, they said.
More than 20 exhibitors of 16 CNG technology manufacturing countries including Canada, China, Korea, India, Pakistan, Argentina, USA and UK will attend the fair with their latest technology related with cylinders used by the CNG vehicles, kit, Compressor, dispenser accessories and support services.
Several seminars and workshops on different issues relating to present situation of CNG and its upcoming challenges will also be held on the sidelines during the fair from November 21 to 25.
Visitors will be able to go around the fair from 10am to 8pm without any entry fee.
