Police allegedly beat an owner of a CNG three-wheeler to death in the city's Ramna area Monday night, reports UNB.
The deceased was identified as Babul Miah, 35, a resident of Noyatola area under Ramna police station.
Police, however, denied the allegations saying that Babul Miah was involved in stealing CNG auto-rickshaws, and he died from a head injury sustained while he was trying to avoid police arrest.
A 3-member inquiry committee was formed to investigate the matter.
