Co-operative Day observed in dists

Our Correspondent GOPALGANJ, Nov 19: The 40th National Co-operative Day was observed in the district in a befitting manner today. The programmes included hoisting of flags, colourful procession, discussion meeting and cultural function to commemorate the day. Sheikh Masudur Rahman, President, district Co-operative Union and Md. Mahmud Hossain DC in charge Gopalganj hoisted the national and Co-operative flags together on the central Co-operative Bank bhaban premises in Gopalganj town. A colourful procession was also brought out in town which paraded the main roads. A discussion meeting was also held in Sheikh Moni auditorium. The meeting was addressed, among others, by Md. Mahmud Hossain DC in charge, Gopalganj, as the chief guest, Md. Monir Hossain SP Gopalganj, Md. Moniruzzaman ADC, Gopalganj, Sheikh Lutfar Rahman Bacchu, Chairman Gopalganj Sadar Upazila, as special guests, Md. Shamsur Rahman Assistant director Bangladesh Rural Development Program (BRDP), Gopalganj, Sheikh Ruhul Amin local AL leader, and Sree Amal Krishna Biswas, Co-operative member. Habiganj 40th Co-operatives Day was observed here in a befitting manner with the theme of " Aso kory somobay, dur hobe antoray". A colourful rally paraded from deputy commissioners office to main road in the town. Advocate Abdul Mazid Khan MP led the rally. Government officials, worker and member of deferent co-operatives attended. A discussion meeting was held at Nimtala ground presided over Deputy commissioner Mahmud Hasan. Advocate Abdul Mazid khan MP was present as chief guest. Police super Md. Kamrul Amin, Sadar Upazila chairman Syed Ahammadul Haque and district co operatives officer Tofayel Ahmed were present as special guests. On the occasion a week-long co-operatives fare has started at Nimtala.
