Coaching centre teacher gunned down in city

A teacher of E Haque Coaching Centre was gunned down inside the centre at Kalabagan in the city Thursday. The victim was identified as Abul Bashar (38), a mathematics teacher, son of Sultan Sikder of village Chanta of Bakerganj in Barisal district. The victim was residing in the city's Gandaria area. Three assailants entered the coaching centre at 128 Lake Circus Road under Dhanmondi police station at about 3:45 pm. They sprayed bullets on him and fled the scene. Bashar died on the spot. The motive behind the murder could not be known immediately. —UNB
