Coal extraction at Barapukuria resumes

DINAJPUR, Nov 3: After 60 hours stoppage, Barapukuria coal mine project resumes coal extraction again Tuesday .The local experts detected the defect of the lift and made it operative.
Managing Director, Engineer Md Kamruzzam told this correspondent that , the elevator of the phase no 1108 was gutted Saturday and as a result coal extraction was stopped.
About 1500 metric tonnes of coal is extracted everyday in this phase . The coal mine supplies about 1100 to 1800 MT of coal to the Barapukuria Thermal power Station and about 52,000 MT of coal are reserved in the Barapukuria stockyard.
