Coast Guard recovers 105 trawlers

Members of Bangladesh Coast Guard on Thursday recovered some 105 fishing trawlers, seized by forest robbers on different times, from the Sundarbans. Lt Commander Alauddin Nayon, operations officer at Mongla Coast Guard, said they conducted a drive in the Kalindi River area of the forest under Satkhira range around 11am to rescue some fishermen who along with their boats were abducted by the members of ‘Alim Bahini’. However, the bandits fled into the deep forest sensing the presence of the law enforcers.  Later, the coastguards recovered 105 fishing trawlers seized by the pirates from fishermen on different times, according to a news agency.
