Coast Guard rescues tokay gecko pair

Bangladesh Coast Guard rescued two Takkhok (tokay gecko) worth around Tk 26 million from Khulna and released them into the Sundarbans Tuesday. Sources at the Coast Guard headquarters said acting on a tip-off, an operational team of Coast Guard West Zone conducted simultaneous drives at a place near Mongla EPZ and Laudob area of Dacop upazila from 4:30 am and rescued the two Takkhoks. Later, the Takhkoks were released in Karamjal area of Sundarban mangrove forest in presence of local journalists and forest officers, according to a news agency---Aminul.
