Coast Guard seizes 2 dredgers, 2 vessels

Members of Bangladesh Coast Guard detained two dredgers, one sand-laden bulkhead and one engine-run steel boat from the Meghna River under Sonargaon police station in Narayanganj district on Tuesday on charge of illegally lifting and carrying sand. They also arrested seven people in connection with the incident. A team of Coast Guard from Pagla station detained the dredgers ‘Bhuiyan Dredger-2’ and ‘MV Nadim  Sefat’ while lifting sand illegally at Charhughla at about 8:30am. They also detained one bulkhead and one steel boat for carrying sand illegally, according to a news agency.
