Coastguard seizes timber in Ctg

CHITTAGONG, Aug 11 (BSS): A patrol team of the Coastguard in a drive seized a boat laden with 840-cft teak timber worth about Taka 1.6m from Karnafuly river in the district.
Coastguard sources said, acting on secret information, a team of the force chased the boat near Boalkhali area in the small hours of today. Sensing the presence of Coastguard personnel, the smugglers carrying the timber jumped into the river and escaped.
