NEW DELHI, Sep 18 (PTI): Aiming to become a total beverages solutions company in India, global soft drinks major Coca Cola is planning to launch as many as 20 new products, including flavoured tea 'Enviga' and energy drinks in three years.
Sources familiar with the development said the company is studying a wide range of energy drinks, sports drinks, tea, coffee and fruit juices products from its global portfolio to bring into India.
Some of the products that are being considered include 'Burn', 'Full Throttle' and 'Tab Energy' from the energy drinks segment, while flavoured tea brand 'Enviga' and 'Gold Peak' are also being looked at, sources said, adding even the lemonade version of its recently launched pulpy orange drink 'Minute Maid' might be considered.
The company is also planning to plug the gap between 'Schweppes' and 'Kinley' in the bottled water segment with 'Bonaqua'.
In August, Coke had announced that it planned to launch new products in a wide variety of beverages category, ranging from energy drinks, sports drinks, flavoured water and juices. It had also said that most of the new beverage solutions both within sparkling and still range were to be developed and launched in India in due course.
When contacted, a company spokesperson said said, "Coca Cola as a leading beverage company in India is continuously evaluating its product portfolio to provide its consumers with the right beverage solution for every occasion."
The spokesperson, however, said launching of 20 new products in three years is "totally speculative".
