Cold weather affects normal life

RAJSHAHI, Dec 19 (BSS): The intensity of biting cold remained unchanged in the city and the region as the gap between the maximum and the minimum temperature reduced further in last 24 hours.
Sources said the cooler winds from the north and northwestern directions added to the sufferings of the common people affecting normal life in the region Friday.
Biting cold is being experienced throughout the day, as the sky remained covered with fog and cloud.
Met Office sources said both the maximum and minimum temperature marked little ups but the gap has been reduced. The minimum temperature was recorded at 15.3 degrees Celsius against the maximum of 19.2 degrees Celsius.
The people of the northwestern region are experiencing biting cold during the past four days at a stretch. The intensity of shivering cold wave is higher in the Ganges and the Brahmaputra basins, the sources added.
Sources at different hospitals and Civil Surgeon Offices of the cold-hit northern districts told that the number of patients from cold related diseases has increased during the past four days.
