They laid stress on inclusion of the mentally challenged children in the mainstream of development with the aim of ensuring them a normal life.
The Special Education for Intellectually Disabled (SEID) Trust arranged the meeting in joint collaboration with Actionaid Bangladesh and Borendra Unnayan Prochesta (BUP) at the Pink Cassia conference hall of Jafar Imam Tennis Complex.
For well-being of the disabled children, focus should be given on changing attitude towards them along with making caregivers as well as social actors understand about the role and responsibilities to increase social duties and commitments.
Additional Commissioner of Rajshahi division Asit Kumar Mukut Moni addressed the meeting as the chief guest with Deputy Director of Social Service Department Mozammel Haque in the chair.
They said community-based education, vocational training and income-generating activities for the children with disabilities should be fostered.

Some 110 persons, especially the NGOs working with the disabled persons, and the guardians along with their disabled children from Rajshahi, Chapainawabganj, Natore and Bogra districts attended the meeting.
