College admission process begins across country

The process of admission in colleges for Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) first year began on Saturday. The students who passed this year’s SSC and equivalent examinations and their guardians have been asked to contact with colleges for the entry of the students in Grade 11 (HSC). As in the previous years, admission will be based on the results of the students. Education minister Nurul Islam Nahid inaugurated the entry process through online and SMS for the academic year 2015-2016 at the National Academy for Educational Management (NAEM) in the morning. The classes for the newcomers (Higher Secondary Certificate first year students) will begin in colleges across the country on July 1. Students will be allowed to appeal for admission through www.xiclassadmission.gov.bd website till June 18. Students have been asked to search www.teletalk.com.bd for details. About 2.4 million students appeared in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations-2015 under 10 education board, held amid nationwide transport blockade and hartals from February 6 to April 4, according to a news agency.
