College girl injured in stalker attack

A female HSC examinee was injured in an attack allegedly by her stalker at Dabarpar Bazar village under Kaunia upazila in Rangpur on Thursday. The victim was identified as Sharmin Akter, an HSC examinee of Haragachha Degree College and daughter of Shariful Islam of the village. Quoting locals, police said Akash Mia, son of Sadequl, used to tease Sharmin for long. On Thursday, Akash hit Sharmin with a sharp weapon as she refused his love proposal while she was going to college, leaving her critically injured. Hearing her screams, locals rescued her and took her to Haragachha 31-bed Hospital. Acting principal of Haragach Degree College Abdus Satter confirmed the incident. A case was filed, according to UNB.
