College girl released soon after abduction in Uttara

Miscreants released a female college student following her abduction after killing a security guard in Uttara Model Town of the city on Thursday night. The miscreants released the girl, a 1st year student of Cambrian School and College, Uttara campus, around 11:20 pm, at a spot near California fast food shop in Uttara Sector 4. The police detained four people from Kafrul area in connection with the incident. The deceased security guard was identified as Liakat Hossain Liton, 38, son of Nazmul Huda of Kaliganj Munshipara in Pirganj uapzila of Rangpur. Police said a gang of armed miscreants on a private car intercepted the 17-year-old student from near Road-3, Sector 4, and took her into a car while she along with her mother and would be husband were returning home around 10:55 pm. When security guard Liton tried to resist the abductors, they shot him in the abdomen leaving him injured. The miscreants released the girl about half an hour later, around 11:20 pm, police and family sources said, according to a news agency.
