College girl slaughtered in city

A college girl was found slaughtered at her flat in the Mirpur area in the city on Thursday, reports UNB.
The victim was identified as Amena Akhtar Reshma, 20, a 2nd year student of Mirpur BCIC School and College. She was residing with her mother Mariam and stepfather Alamgir in the flat.
Police detained the mother and stepfather of the victim for interrogation.
Family sources said Mariam had a dispute with her 2nd husband Alamgir over the ownership of the flat they were living. Marium demanded Alamgir to register the flat in Reshma's name.
Police sources said Marium came out of her flat in the morning when Reshma and Alamgir were staying there.
