College student drowns in Jessore

A college student drowned in a pond at M M College in Jessore town on Sunday afternoon. The deceased was identified as Shubho, 20, an honours 6th semester student of Jessore M M College and son of Jahid Hossain, a resident of Barandipara in the district town. Family members said Shubho slipped into the pond on the college campus and drowned at about 4:30 pm while taking bath with his friends as he did not know how to swim. Locals rescued Shubho from the pond and took him to 250-bed Hospital where on-duty doctors declared him dead, according to UNB.
