College student drowns in river

A higher secondary student drowned in Bornoi River in Bagmara upazila in Rajshahi on Saturday. The dead is Paltan Kumar, 16, son of Robin Kumar of Haldapar village in the upazila and a higher secondary student of Taherpur Degree College. Police and locals said Paltan drowned in Bornoi River after he went to take bath in the river at Tahirpur village with his two friends around 2pm. On information, divers from Rajshahi fire service rushed to the spot and recovered the body of Paltan around 7pm, according to UNB.
