College student jailed for rape attempt

SATKHIRA, Nov 17 (UNB): A mobile court convicted a college student Wednesday morning and sentenced him to three months imprisonment for trying to violate a schoolgirl at Mahatpur village in Kaliganj upazila in Satkhira on Tuesday night.
The convict was identified as Rezaul Karim, 20, son of Sheikh Sahil Uddin of the village. He is a student of local Polytechnic Institute.
Locals said Rezaul secretly entered the bedroom of the teenage girl at about 10:30pm Tuesday. Haring the hue and cry of the victim, family members and neighbors rushed in and caught Rezaul red handed.
