Collingwood, Broad back in England Test squad

LONDON, July 25 (AP): England recalled Stuart Broad and Paul Collingwood and retained Eoin Morgan in its 12-man squad Sunday for the first test against Pakistan at Trent Bridge.
Paceman Broad and middle-order batsman Collingwood were rested for the test series against Bangladesh, which England won 2-0 earlier this summer, while limited-overs specialist Morgan has been given another chance to shine in the longer format ahead of the Ashes series against Australia later this year. Fast bowlers Steven Finn and Ajmal Shahzad also were kept on by selectors, but batsman Ian Bell misses out after breaking a bone in his foot in the recent one-day international series against Bangladesh.
Tim Bresnan, James Tredwell and Ravi Bopara, who has been in good form in the county championship, were overlooked by selectors for the first of four tests against Pakistan, which will be coming off a drawn test series with Australia.
Batsman Kevin Pietersen is fully fit again after not being risked in the ODI series against Bangladesh.
"There are a lot of people knocking on the door, we wanted strength in depth and gradually we are getting that," said national selector Geoff Miller. "We feel this is the right side to take on a Pakistan side who are fairly buoyant now after beating Australia."
