Comilla City Corpn polls schedule today

The election schedule for the newly formed Comilla City Corporation (CCC) will be announced today (Tuesday), reports UNB. The decision was taken at a meeting of the Election Commission (EC) held at the EC Secretariat with Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Dr ATM Shamsul Huda in the chair on Monday. The meeting discussed the preparations of the upcoming CCC election. Election commissioners M Sohul Hussain and M Sakhawat Hossain and EC secretary Dr M Sadik were present at the meeting. Later, Election commissioner Sohul Hussain told reporters that the polls schedule will be announced at 11:30 am Tuesday. Comilla was declared a city corporation on July 10 last through a gazette notification. As per rules, the polls schedule should be announced within 180 days of formation of a city corporation.
