COMILLA, Mar 14 (UNB): A court here on Tuesday fixed March 28 to hear two petitions -- one for BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's bail and another for withdrawal of production warrant (PW) against her -- in an arson case filed in 2015.
Comilla Senior Judicial Magistrate Judge Mustain Billa passed the order.
On March 12, the court issued the production warrant asking Khaleda to appear before it on March 28, said court inspector Subrata Banarjee on Wednesday.
On Tuesday morning, Khaleda's lawyers filed two petitions with the court seeking withdrawal of the production warrant and bail of the former Prime Minister.
According to the case statement, Khaleda was charged with instigating arson attack on a bus that had killed at least eight people and injured 20 others at Jagmohanpur of Chauddagram on February 3, 2015 during the nonstop blockade enforced by the BNP-led alliance.
