Comilla fire guts shops, destroys valuables

A fire completely gutted four shops and destroyed other properties, including cash money and valuables, at a bazaar in Rajganj in Comilla city on Sunday. Locals said the fire originated from electric short circuit at a shop owned by one Pradip at night and it soon engulfed the adjoining three shops. Being informed, a firefighting unit rushed to the spot from a Comilla fire station and doused the fire. The affected shop owners claimed that the losses caused by the fire could be over Tk3.5 million, according to bdnews24.com.
