Comilla hopeful of Mustafiz's availability for BPL final

Thursday, 29 February 2024

Comilla Victorians skipper Litton Kumar Das is hopeful to get the services of senior pacer Mustafizur Rahman for the final of the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League T20 tournament, scheduled on March 01, reports Cricbuzz.
Mustafizur suffered a head injury in Chattogram on February 18 and was forced to remain on the bench since the injury that required five stitches in his head.
On Monday (February 26), Mustafizur was present at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in the city to inspire his team as they reached the final after beating Rangpur Riders by seven wickets in the first qualifier.
"We are hopeful that he (Mustafizur) will be available in the final," Litton Das told reporters after the game.
"He will start practicing from tomorrow or the day after and we are hopeful and please pray that he is available in the final," he said adding that they chose to field at the toss as there was no Mustafizur in the side.
"We took fielding after winning the toss, and it was largely due to the fact we did not have Mustafizur because while defending, we can go on the back foot to some extent (due to unavailability of Mustafizur) and we had two bowlers. Because Mushfiqur did not play for long time and it was first match of Barsan, we decided to chase as our batting line-up is big," he added.
While Victorians are losing their sleep over the availability of Mustafizur, Liton said that he is extremely happy to see the way in-form Towhid Hridoy has developed his game and is delivering in the middle.
