Comilla UP member murder: 14 land in jail

A court in Comilla has sent 14 people, including three union parishad members, to jail in UP member Nurul Alam Khandaker murder case. Senior judicial magistrate of Comilla Shafiqur Rahman passed the order rejecting their bail petitions when they were produced before his court on Thursday. Three UP members – Belal Hossain of Laxmipur, Rafiqul Islam of Alkora and Delwar Hossain of Kulsar – were among the accused. Masked miscreants picked up Nurul Alam, a resident of Dekra village of Chouddagram Upazila and a member of ward-4 of Alkora union parishad, from Dattasar area on July 12. His body was found near Laxmipur bridge in the Upazila on the following day. Later, a case was filed with Chouddagram police station in this connection, according to a news agency.
