Commemorative stamp released marking first Nat'l Agriculture Day

Chief Adviser (CA) Dr Fakhruddin Ahmed released a commemorative postage stamp marking the first National Agriculture Day (first Agrahayan) Saturday, reports UNB.
The CA released the stamp of Tk 4.0 denomination at his office Saturday.
Agriculture Adviser Dr CS Karim, Post and Telecommunications Adviser Brig Gen (retd) MA Malek, Agriculture Secretary Abdul Aziz, CA's Press Secretary Syed Fahim Munaim and DG of Postal Department Mobasherur Rahman were present at the function.
A meeting of the council of advisers held on November 9 this year decided to observe National Agriculture Day on the first Aghrahayan in every Bengali year.
Earlier on October 16, 2008, the CA at a function marking the "World Food Day 2008" had announced that "National Agriculture Day" would be observed on a certain day each year to recognise the contribution of farmers as Bangladesh was an agrarian country.
