Commerce Adviser off to China

An eight-member Bangla-desh delegation left for Beijing Thursday to discuss business issues with the Chinese authorities, including duty-free access of more Bangladeshi products to the Chinese market, reports UNB.

Commerce and Education Adviser Hossain Zillur Rahman is leading the team that includes members from government and private sectors.

They undertook the trip at the invitation of Chinese Yunnan Province Governor to take part in "The China Kunming International Import and Export Commodities Fair-2008" in Kunming.

The other members include Bangladesh Ambassador to China Munshi Foyez Ahmed, Export Promotion Bureau Vice-chairman M Sahabullah, Commercial Minister of Bangladesh Embassy in China M Aminul Islam, BKMEA President Fazlul Haque, Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vice-president Khondoker Shahidul Islam, Bangladesh Drug Industry Association President SM Safiuzzaman and Bangladesh Jute Association Chairman Nazmul Haque.

Commerce Adviser Zillur will attend the inaugural ceremony of the Kunming International Trade Fair this (Friday) morning and hold a discussion with Yunnan Province Vice-governor.
