Commercial utilisation and export of the valuable minerals at Cox's Bazar

Tuesday, 19 June 2007

VAST deposits of valuable minerals -- 'Black-Gold' -- were found as late as in 1970 in Cox's Bazar and some of its surrounding areas. I have ever since been trying my best for getting all concerned involved in efforts for commercial utilisation of such valuable minerals either in the public sector or in the private sector but in vain.
Very recently long after 36 years, I have revisited some of the old mineral 'Black-Gold' deposit-sites in Cox's Bazar. I am very much shocked and disappointed to see and find that those valuable minerals are lying wasted, unused and lost into the sea for decades together.
Our authorities concerned have taken no pragmatic and positive step as yet for commercial utilisation of such valuable minerals, worth millions of dollars, and thus our country is being deprived of benefit of our own national wealth.
I would like to humbly request the concerned authorities to kindly send a team of experts and other relevant personnel to Cox's Bazar to see for themselves some of the deposit-sites for such valuable minerals for their knowledge and experience and necessary action.
