Communications Ministry renamed

The government has renamed the Ministry of Communications as the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges to avoid complications at the international level.  The government also renamed the Roads division under the ministry as Road Transport and Highways division. The Cabinet division issued a gazette notification Wednesday in this regard. Contacted, Communications Secretary MAN Siddique said, "There was problem internationally to work with the name of Communications Ministry. We, therefore, proposed the Cabinet division to change the name to avoid the complexities."     — UNB
