Completing trial of war criminals during tenure of present govt stressed

State Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Advocate Qamrul Islam Friday reiterated that trial of war criminals will be completed during the tenure of the present government, reports BSS.
"It takes time to make the trial of war criminals in an international standard so that nobody can raise questions in this regard," he told a discussion titled 'Enemies of independent are active to foil trial of war criminals' organised by Bishwa Kabita Kantha Parishad at the Jatiya Press Club in the city.
Presidium Member of Awami League Satish Chandra Roy addressed the discussion as the guest of honour.
Vice-chancellor of World University of Bangladesh Prof Dr Abdul Mannan Chowdhury, Poet Kazi Rozy, Prof M Shahriar Alam and Poet Abdul Khaleq, among others, addressed the discussion with president of the parishad Poet Jahangir Alam in the chair.
Qamrul said, after arrest of Salahuddin Quader Chowdhury on charge of crimes against humanity in 1971, the main opposition party BNP is trying to make the International Crimes Tribunal controversial to impede trial of war criminals.
Satish said trial of war criminal will be completed to establish rule of law.
He called upon all to be united sinking all differences for completing trial of war criminals properly.
