Comrade Ali Aksad laid to rest

Hundreds of people from all walks of life Saturday paid their last respects to World Peace Council Vice-president and Bangladesh Peace Council President Comrade Ali Aksad, reports BSS.
Ali Aksad, also a language movement hero, journalist and a member of Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB), was laid to eternal rest at Mirpur Martyred Intellectuals' Graveyard in the city Saturday afternoon.
Earlier in the morning, his body was taken from Birdem mortuary to the CPB central office and from there to the National Press Club premises where his party colleagues and journalists paid their last tribute.
Later, the body was taken to the Central Shaheed Minar at about 11:00 am and kept until 1:00 pm where people of all walks of life paid their last respect to the leader of peace movement.
From there his coffin was taken to Dhaka University (DU) Central Mosque where his Namaz-e-Janaza was held after Zohr prayers.
Comrade Ali Aksad breathed his last Friday morning at the city's Square Hospital.
