Concerted efforts stressed on Malaria prevention

NETRAKONA, Jun 18 (BSS): Speakers at a discussion meeting on "National malaria control networks" here on Tuesday underlined the need to create mass awareness about Malaria disease preventive methods.
They also emphasized on massive media coverage of all malaria control programs of the government.
The speakers said the government is supplying anti-mosquito chemicals, special mosquito-nets and Medicare services by mobile medical teams in the malaria prone areas of the country. They laid emphasis on enhancing the capacity of health service providers for keeping the country's people free from Malaria disease.
Netrakona district health department in cooperation with "BRAC" organized the discussion meeting at the conference room of Netrakona civil surgeon office.
Deputy commissioner DR Abul Kalam Azad addressed the meeting as chief guest while civil surgeon DR Shahiduddin Ahmed Swapan was in the chair.
The meeting was also addressed, among others, by additional police super Delwar Hussain, deputy civil surgeon DR Bijon Kanti Sarker, general secretary of Netrakona press club Muklesur Rahman Khan, BSS district correspondent M Faqrul Haque, vice president of Netrakona press club Shamolendu Paul and valiant freedom fighter and president of district Sangbadik Samity Haider Jahan Chowdhory.
