Confidence : A big booster for exams

I was appearing in my HSC maths examination with rather a poor preparation.I studied maths, but did not have enough time to revise and review all the sums. Though my preparation was not good, I was somehow confident that I could come up with a moderate result. In the exam hall, before solving any sum, my confidence was at its peak. Just after reading and understanding question of a sum, I visualised that I would succeed in solving the sum and then I thought about in how many ways I could solve the sum. Then I thought about the most comfortable option of doing the sum. Just in case I failed, I tried other options. In doing most of the sums, I was successful and I made a moderate result in the maths exam.
Like me, if any student has confidence and courage about the solution to any problem, it is more likely that they will succeed.
For being positive about success, one needs to create and be in a positive environment. Positive environment will make one positive. In a positive environment people remark in this way: "We will do good in the exam" or "even if the question paper is critical in the exam, we can come up" " or I feel much better today" or " the weather is in favour of studies today". Negative environment might make one negative. Example of negative environment is comments like these: "I feel very tensed about the exam", or " I am afraid I will be ousted from the institute for poor grades in the upcoming exam", " how will you pass the exam with such poor preparation? " In an environment where such negative remarks are made, one might lose confidence about one's success in studies. Again, one's mental energy should be so strong that one is not affected by negative environment and should work towards making positive results.
When you study regularly for the whole year, confidence grows spontaneously. Solving problems gets easier for you. Just in case you have not been able to study regularly for the whole year/semester, you should not lose courage. For example, you have an exam just after two days and your preparation is not good. Stop worrying. Mere worrying will not give you anything. Rather plan the two days and utilise the best. Be courageous and confident. If you can do so, you will see that you have done much better in the exam, better than you could even expect. So it is courage, confidence and planned work that contribute to your success in the most challenging days in your life.
This is very unfortunate that many of our students cannot use their potentials since they are not confident. If the reverse could happen- if they were confident they could do much better in studies. All who ought to be concerned meaning teachers, guardians and students need to create a 100% positive environment so that our students become confident all the time-be it while doing a sum, be it while appearing an exam with a moderate or sometimes even poor preparation.
It is confidence lack of which may be responsible for poor performance of a student who has otherwise very rich experience. It is confidence that may contribute to good performance of a student who has rather moderate preparation for the exam.
Of course, if a student has both good preparation and confidence, he or she is sure to do good in studies and make impressive results in the exam.
