Confidence Cement approves 15pc dividend

CHITTAGONG, June 17: The 17th annual general meeting (AGM) of Confidence Cement Ltd was held on its Madambibir Hat factory premises on Sunday. The board of directors of the company declared 15 per cent cash dividend for the shareholders for the year 2007, which was approved by the shareholders present in the AGM.
Confidence Cement Managing Director Rezaul Karim presided over the AGM while Director (Finance) Rupam Kishore Barua, Director (Production) Shah Mohammed Hasan, directors Runu Anwar and Abdul Gaffar Dobash were present on the occasion. A large number of shareholders attended the AGM.
Audited accounts of the 2007 fiscal , report of the auditors and report of the board of directors were approved in the meeting.
Sales of the company rose to over Taka 1.12 billion in the stated year and the net profit was Taka 52.6 million in the said fiscal. Company Secretary Newaz Md. Iqbal Yusuf conducted the AGM.
