Congratulations Tigers!
Friday, 25 March 2022
It is a historic win. It is a great achievement. It is another prize for Bangladesh cricket. For the first time, the Tigers have clinched a series win against the Proteas in one-day international (ODI) cricket. On Wednesday last, Bangladesh humbled South Africa at Super Sport Park in Centurion. Tamim Iqbal's unbeaten 87 after Taskin Ahmed's five wickets powered Bangladesh to clinch the victory. Taskin's superb spell reduced the hosts to a meagre total of 154 runs. Taskin bagged not only the man of the match award but also the man of the series award.
Following the win in the first match, the Tigers lost in the second match of the series. The defeat, however, made them steely to bounce back. Such a comeback in a professional manner is welcome. There is, however, a need for keeping the performance consistent. The county has been spending a lot on the cricketers over the decade. They have to keep it in mind. The cricket board also have to respect the sentiment of 170 million people. Finally, it is the honour of the country, honour of the nation.
