Constitution of BACB approved

The third general meeting of the Bangladesh Association of Certification Bodies (BACB) was held in the city recently.
The members of the BACB unanimously approved its constitution. As per the constitution, the first executive committee was elected by the direct votes of the general members. Director General of Bangladesh Accreditation Board Liaquat Ali acted as the election commissioner. DG of BSTI Azmol Hossain presided over the meeting.
The elected office bearers of the executive committee are: Vice President-Azmal Hossain (DG BSTI), General Secretary-Mohiuddin (Department of Fisheries), Assistant General Secretary-Md Golam Kibria (Bureau Veritas Certification), Treasurer-Ahmed Humayun Kabir (RDR), Member-Ataur Rahman (Moody International), Member-Masud Karim (Gema-nischer Lloyds), Member-Saiad Wahid Rabbani (SGS), Member-Iftekhar Mahmud (SAI Global) and Member-Rashid Munir Akhtar (URS).
The objective of the Association will be to enhance the desirability and image of the system and product certification in Bangladesh in a bid to support entrepreneurs access foreign market and facilitate trade and commerce.
