Containers with undeclared imported items seized

CHITTAGONG, June 15: Chittagong customs authority seized two containers loaded with pipe fittings on charge of importing goods with false declaration at Chittagong Port.
Kabir Steel, owner of the goods, allegedly imported the pipe fittings along with the declared scrap items.
Sources said, the company imported scrap items from the United States. But out of the total 8 containers, 6 were found loaded with the declared item of scrap while the rest two containers were found loaded with the pipe fittings.
As the imported items did not match the declaration at the time of verification at the delivery point, the two containers loaded with pipe fittings were seized by customs authority.
