Sunday, 5 July 2015

Senior Awami League (AL) leader and former minister Suranjit Sengupta said on Saturday Bangladesh will emerge as a mid-income country within few years if it could contain terrorism, militancy and corruption, reports BSS.
"Bangladesh is passing through a golden period and it has taken a long time to get recognition as lower middle income country by the World Bank (WB), as it is heading towards the right path under dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina," Mr Sengupta made the remarks while addressing a discussion of Bangabandhu Juba Foundation as the chief guest with its president Yusuf Ali in the chair at Dhaka Reporters' Unity.
Mr Sengupta, an advisory council member of the AL, also called upon all to give their best effort to turn Bangladesh in a mid-income country in few years.
Hailing Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for her wise timely initiatives taken for the overall development of Bangladesh, he also said, "It is only Sheikh Hasina, who can drive Bangladesh on the right path and materialise the dream of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to turn Bangladesh into a developed country."
Among others, member of sub-committee of AL Narayan Debnath and president of Bangabandhu Foundation Moshiur Rahman Malek spoke on the occasion.
