Cooperatives Day today

The 47th National Cooperatives Day will be observed in the country today (Sunday), reports UNB.
This year's theme is 'Let's make cooperative society, ensure sustainable development'.
President M Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday issued separate messages on the occasion.
President Hamid in his message hoped that all the co-operators will play useful role in selecting their leaderships and forming cooperative society.
President Hamid said cooperatives is a mass-people's organisation and it has been playing an important role in poverty alleviation, creating new jobs, marketing of products and ensuring its fair prices and establishing women empowerment.
PM Sheikh Hasina in her message said cooperatives are contributing to transform the country into a developed one within 2041 and implement Vision-2021, SDG-2030.
Different programmes including rally and discussions will be held marking the day.
