Cop among 4 injured in city bomb attack

A bomb hurled by a gang of unidentified miscreants has injured four people including a policeman in Dhaka’s Chalkbazar on Tuesday morning. Chalkbazar Police Station’s Inspector (investigations) Md Alamgir Hossain said the incident occurred around 6am near the East Islambagh. The injured are Constable Saidur Rahman, 37, suspected attacker ‘Khokan’, and two pedestrians, whose identities are to be ascertained. The policeman, with splinter injuries on his legs, has been given first aid, while the suspected attacker has been taken to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), said the police officer. The two injured pedestrians were rushed to the hospital. Their conditions were improving, hospital sources said. “A few people gathered in an alley. They threw a bomb when the police went to make inquiries,” said Inspector Hossain, according to bdnews24.com.
