Cop burnt in poll-time petrol bomb attack dies

A policeman died on Wednesday after fighting to survive severe burns for more than a month. The dead is M Imam Uddin, 48, a constable posted at Laxmipur Sadar Police Station and a resident of Noakhali. He breathed his last at the DMCH burn unit around 1:30am, said sub-inspector Monirul Islam of the hospital’s police outpost. Imam was injured severely on January 4 after a petrol-bomb was hurled at a polling station in Lakshmipur’s Ramganj Upazila. DMCH burn unit’s resident physician Partha Shankar Paul said Imran was kept in the ICU with 30 percent of his body burnt, according to bdnews24.com.
