Cop dies in road crash

A policeman was killed and two others were injured as a truck knocked down in Gazipur city on Monday. The deceased was identified as Ismail Hossain, 25, a constable of range reserve police, while two other injured were constables Jabbar and Shamim. Sub-inspector M Shahin of Gazipur’s Bhogra police camp said the accident took place on Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway around 4am. A Mymensingh-bound truck from Dhaka collided head-on with another truck from the opposite direction in Bhogra area. The three constables, including Ismail, sustained injuries as a truck hit them while they were performing their duties on the highway. The injured policemen were rushed to Gazipur Sadar Hospital. Ismail died on way to Dhaka as his condition deteriorated, according to UNB.
